Paphiopedilum Basics:

Look for:New clumps of leaves in the Summer, Sheaths in the Fall, Blooms in the Winter and Spring
Water:Likes to be damp, not soggy
Light:Low light
Temperature:Warm growing
Fertilize:FEED ME! Weakly, weekly
Increase amount by 50% from May-September
Many types of paphs like supplemental calcium in the form of crushed oyster shells as a topdressing.
Look for:New fans of leaves in the Spring-Summer, buds in the Fall, Blooms in the Winter and Spring
Taxonomy:Genus Paphiopedilum
Tribe Cypripedieae
Natural Cues:Paphs are sensitive to the drop in temperature that comes with fall. If grown indoors the plant should be given 2 weeks of chilling at 60 degree night temperatures in the early fall to initiate blooming. During this time they also prefer a significant difference between day and night temperatures.
Repotting: Paphs love to be repotted frequently, annually if possible, every two years at most. Seedling Paphs benefit from even more frequent repotting, older plants can go a little longer than young ones.

RePotme Imperial Paph & Phrag Orchid Mix is hand made with extraordinary ingredients. We start with plenty of small cork nuggets imported from Portugal and small Monterey Pine bark from New Zealand and then mix with small hydroton and medium sponge rock. The Imperial Cube is packed in its own box measuring 10" x 10" by 10" and sealed with a clear plastic liner. Our Imperial orchid mixes are probably the finest plush mixes available anywhere and are perfect for the orchids in your collection.
