Plant Labels
Our 5 inch by 1 inch printed plant labels are designed to provide three important pieces of information that are critical to know, especially when repotting.
- When was the plant last repotted?
- Was it potted up, down, or into the same size pot?
- When was the last bloom?
Get Organized! - Orchid Label System
We have a system that we use to keep track of what is happening with each of our orchids; we put a colored label in the pot as a reminder. Red means that an orchid has a problem, yellow means we're watching it for some reason, green means it has a spike (!), and orange means it is time to repot. If an orchid has a red or yellow tag we'll write the issue on the label. For example, an orchid might be yellow tagged for "roots" meaning the previous repotting indicated that the orchids roots were not as vigorous as we were hoping for. If time is short we can quickly identify and examine those with red or yellow tags to determine their progress. We can also celebrate a row of green tagged orchids! Come repotting time we can easily gather those with orange tags. Whether you use our system or invent your own, colored labels are a great way to add some order to an orchid collection.
