Medium Monterey Pine Bark Orchid Medium
rePotme is pleased to offer New Zealand Monterey Pine Bark in both small and medium chips. This extraordinary media from Orchiata is dark and rich and comes from the bark of Pinus Radiata which does not decompose as quickly as fir bark. It retains a hard structure with excellent porosity, has a more stable PH and is an organic renewable resource. Monterey Pine Bark was discussed in the article called Growing the Best Phalaenopsis in the February 2007 edition of Orchids, the Journal of the American Orchid Society, as a favorable media for orchid cultivation noting its ability to hold moisture and nutrients at a higher PH resulting in better orchid growth. Monterey Pine Bark was also recognized in a related article printed in Greenhouse Grower magazine in August 2005. Each piece of medium Monterey Pine Bark is roughly 1/2 inch. Also available in small chips.
