Medium Tree Fern Fiber Orchid Medium
Medium Tree fern fiber is a popular orchid potting medium. It is resistant to decay and helps with aeration of the mix. Tree fern holds up well under moist, humid conditions. Medium tree fern, which resembles sticks, is used to keep mixes open and airy, especially mixes with sphagnum. Tree fern fiber comes from the roots of a fern from the Cyatheaceae family and provides some minor nutrients to orchids. When used as a topdressing, tree fern helps control algae buildup.
