Houseplant Blend is a free draining multi purpose classic potting mix that is perfect for a wide variety of houseplants including ivy, jade, jewel orchid, fig, philodendron, spider plants, etc. The variety of ingredients in this mix are intended to reduce compacting of the medium and discourage fungus gnats. Our clear orchid pots help make it easier to monitor moisture content and our Feed Me! MSU formula fertilizer is perfect for this type of mix.

Specifically, rePotme Houseplant Mix is distinguished by what it doesn't have in it, peat moss. We make this mix with Coir which is ground coconut husk and the absence of peat is key to getting rid of fungus gnats. Fungus gnats are attracted to peat moss, and almost all commercially available plant mixes are made with peat moss. Our Coir based Houseplant Mix has no peat and the coir we use is a bit more costly, but it is also more durable, resistant to fungus (and the gnats), and is a wonderful free draining mix for prized houseplants and tropicals.

Instructions For Use:

We recommend adding a bit of water to this mix prior to use and allowing the mix to absorb that moisture for several hours before working with it because coir needs moisture to regain its proper consistency.
