Our Bromeliad Blend tropical mix includes premium sphagnum peat, small fir bark, small sponge rock, small charcoal and granite chips. This fluffy mix is ideal for epiphitic tropicals such as Bromeliad, Anthurium, Hoya and Clivia. It is also great for ferns. Bromeliad Blend is made with:

sphagnum peat
small fir bark
small sponge rock
small charcoal
granite chips

Instructions For Use:

We recommend adding water to this mix prior to use and allowing the mix to absorb that moisture for several hours before working with it. The reason for this process, unlike our other mixes that don't contain peat moss, is because peat moss needs moisture to regain its proper consistency. While we add some moisture during the mix process, it tends to be dryer when delivered and handling will be much easier if properly moistened before use. We suggest adding substantial water as required directly to the bag, or other suitable container if using less than the full bag, and letting it sit overnight. This way, the mix is properly prepared and ready for use with your plants and it will be far easier and less dusty to work with.
