Smokey Dahlia

Dahlia Tubers might not look that pretty but their blooms are spectacular! If tubers are a little shriveled, don't worry they will be fine. Just plant them in full sun and in a rich well-drained soil. Perfect for sandy, loamy or acidic soils. Can be planted in containers, but will require staking. For larger varieties, (3'+), we recommend staking when you plant as stems are rather brittle. Hardy to zones 8-11 but with heavy mulching some varieties can overwinter in the ground up to zone 6. You can dig each tuber after frost has blacken foliage and store until Spring.

Decorative type, 36-48" tall, 18-24" spread. 4-6" bloom. Beautiful cream flowers with lavender streaks. No two blooms are alike, each appearing to be liberally and irregularly streaked with color. Dahlias thrive in well-drained soil and prefer full sun. Attracts butterflies, hummingbirds & is bee friendly. Very fast growers that bloom midsummer to fall. Hardy in zones 8-11, but don't let that deter you if you live in cooler zones. Tubers can be dug and stored over the winter or used as an annual. #1 grade tuber.
